Mizzou Wrestling has crowned a three-time Big-12 Conference champion.

Keegan O'Toole defeated Oklahoma State's Dean Hamiti Jr. 7-4 in sudden victory to clinch the fourth conference title of his career. The two-time NCAA champion has won three Big-12 crowns and one MAC championship in five seasons.

O'Toole entered the third period of the 174-pound bout with a 4-0 deficit but quickly erased it. After securing a quick escape, the Wisconsin native posted a match-tying takedown with under 30 seconds in regulation to force overtime. From there, O'Toole simultaneously put his patience, intelligence and talent on display by outsmarting Hamiti to secure his ankle, leading to the championship-winning takedown in overtime.

However, O'Toole's teammate Cam Steed fell just one win short of his first conference title. West Virginia's Peyton Hall scored the match's only two points with an escape in the second period and riding time, shutting out Steed 2-0.

Up next - MU will compete at the NCAA Wrestling Championships in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The opening round of the national tournament is scheduled for Thursday, March 20.
