WCC All-Freshman commits to Mizzou Women’s Basketball

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou Women's Basketball has added a young talent to its veteran-led roster.
Pepperdine transfer Chloe Sotell announced her commitment to head coach Kellie Harper and her staff on Monday afternoon, per a post on her Instagram page. She is just the third underclassman on Mizzou's current 12-player roster.
The 6-foot guard showed plenty of promise as a true freshman during the 2024-25 campaign. Sotell appeared in Pepperdine's starting lineup in 26 of 30 games, averaging 10.6 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists per outing during her debut season at the collegiate level. The WCC All-Freshman selection also shot .343 from the field and .313 from three-point range.
Sotell is the latest student-athlete to join MU's guard-heavy team. The Tigers have landed seven players through the transfer portal this offseason, and six of those student-athletes are listed as guards on the team's roster. Additionally, 75% of the entire team plays the guard position.

Mizzou was the No. 13-ranked team in the SEC in field goal percentage last season (.433).
