Mizzou dominates UMKC to close out non-conference play
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou Women's Basketball cruised past in-state foe UMKC to earn a 85-42 win in the team's final game until 2024. Robin Pingeton's crew has now won back-to-back games ahead of its first matchup of SEC play at the beginning of January.
The Tigers never trailed UMKC in this contest and began the game on an 18-4 scoring run that featured seven points from Jefferson City alum Hannah Linthacum and six points from Abby Feit. Mizzou outscored UMKC 21-6 in the opening quarter and extended its lead to 26 points by halftime.
Mizzou held UMKC to less than 27% shooting and forced 16 turnovers enroute to a 43-point victory.
Linthacum had a breakout performance for the Tigers, leading the team with a career-high 20 points in the contest. However, Linthacum was not the only Tiger to have a career night. Hilke Feldrappe posted a career-high 11 points on Thursday night.
Ashton Judd also recorded her fourth double-double of the season, recording 12 points and 13 rebounds.
10 different Tigers scored points, and Mizzou shot 45.1% from the field and 38.5% from three-point range.
Up next - the Mizzou women's basketball team tips off SEC play against the defending national champions. Robin Pingeton's squad will face LSU on Jan. 4 at 8 p.m. in Baton Rouge.
