Mizzou upsets No. 24 Auburn, picks up ninth SEC win

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Five different Mizzou Tigers recorded double-digit kills on Sunday afternoon at the Hearnes Center, leading Mizzou to a 3-1 victory over No. 24 Auburn. Dawn Sullivan's team is now 17-9 on the season with a 9-6 record in SEC play.

Sunday's win marked Mizzou's fourth straight win.

Mizzou built a 2-0 lead in the match after winning the first two sets 25-19 and 25-23 respectively. Auburn started to climb back into it by forcing a fourth set, but Mizzou dominated the final set, outscoring its opponent 25-12 to win the match.

Janet deMarrais and Jordan Iliff recorded a combined 33 kills in the match. Iliff added four service aces, and deMarrais finished with three aces of her own.

Colleen Finney, Dilara Gedikoglu and Morgan Isenberg also recorded double-digit kills in the contest.

Up next - Mizzou will host No. 21 Florida on Friday, Nov. 17 for its final home regular season match. The Tigers will celebrate Senior Night against the Gators. That match is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
