Mizzou volleyball kicks off season with Black & Gold Match

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou volleyball is 10 days away from the team's first game of the season and to try to get in game mode, the team held the Black & Gold Match Tuesday night at the Hearnes Center.

With five freshman on the Tiger's team this year, they are already stepping into big roles like setter Riley Buckley.

"The offense is back to where I want it to be and a large part of that is because of Riley Buckley not only her setting but her being offensive as well is something that makes her pretty unique," said head coach Josh Taylor.

Taylor said as the season quickly approaches, he's reminding his team to control what they can.

"A piece of that is communication and togetherness of the group regardless of physical play. That's something I hope we can improve upon each day going into match play next week," Taylor said.
