COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou Soccer's countdown to kickoff has reached just eight days.
The Tigers hit another checkpoint in their preseason preparation for the 2025 season, hosting Kansas State in an exhibition game at Audrey J. Walton Stadium on Wednesday night.
The match, which was broken up into three 30-minute periods, ended in a 1-1 draw.
MU assembled a 1-0 lead within the first 10 minutes of action, courtesy of a goal from Emily Derucki in the opening period. McKenna Moran was awarded the assist.
However, less than five minutes into the second period, Kansas State knotted the match at 1-1 with a goal from Mabry Williams off a deflection near the net.
All three of Mizzou's goalkeepers played a complete period in the exhibition. Kate Phillips, who was in the starting lineup, and Addison Colangelo did not allow a goal in their 30-minute outings. Riley Wilkerson surrendered Kansas State's only goal but made several saves throughout her appearance.
Collectively, MU out-shot KSU by a 9-7 margin and had two more corner kick opportunities than the Wildcats.
