Mizzou men’s basketball rallies to complete comeback against Kentucky

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Tigers scored eight straight to end the game to defeat the Wildcats, 73-68.

Despite Mizzou getting out to a 19-12 lead in the first half of play, Kentucky fought back to trail by just one at the half. They continued that momentum throughout the back 20 minutes, eventually leading 66-58 with just four and a half minutes to play. From there, head coach Dennis Gates' team went on a 15-2 run to close out the win and complete the comeback to get the first win in Rupp Arena in school history.

Mark Mitchell was the star for the Tigers tonight, finishing the game with 21 points. In his second game back from injury, Jayden stone continued his hot stretch with 20 points while shooting 6-10 from the field and 3-6 from beyond the arc, and went 4-4 from the free throw line at the end of the game to ice the win. Anthony Robinson also had an impressive night notching nine points, 10 assists, and four rebounds.

Up Next - The Tigers will remain on the road and travel to Oxford, Miss. to take on Ole Miss. Tip Off fort that game is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Jan. 10.
