Mizzou crowns two SEC co-champions, earns fourth place at conference championships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (KMIZ)
Mizzou Gymnastics has matched its best finish at the SEC Championships in program history.
The Tigers claimed fourth place in the conference title meet at Legacy Arena with a 197.400 effort, which broke the school record for best SEC Championships score. MU's previous high mark at this event was last season's 197.275 score.
Mara Titarsolej and Helen Hu guided Mizzou to its program-best performance. Titarsolej achieved perfection to win back-to-back SEC Co-Championships on the uneven bars. Saturday's routine marked the Netherlands native's third career perfect 10 in that event and led the team to its second-best score on that apparatus in program history with a final tally of 49.575.
Hu also became an SEC Co-Champion on the balance beam. The Chicago native finished in a three-way tie with a 9.925 routine, marking the eighth time that Hu has reached the 9.900-threshold this season.
Kennedy Griffin and Jocelyn Moore shared a second place finish with four other gymnasts at the meet on floor, following a pair of 9.950 performances. Moore and Griffin's routines powered the Tigers to the second-best team score on that apparatus, finishing just .025 behind LSU for an SEC event title with a 49.600 effort.
