REPORTS: Mizzou Football adds Florida State assistant to coaching staff

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

According to multiple reports, the Tigers hire former special teams coordinator John Papuchis from the Seminoles.

Papuchis started with FSU back in 2020 and has spend the past six season overseeing special teams for the 'noles. Last season, he was also put in charge of the line backer unit at the start of this year.

In 2025, Florida State was a perfect 48 of 48 on extra points, and had a field goal percentage of 63.2. Meanwhile, the team's defense allowed just 138 rushing yards per came, and an even better 190.8 passing yards per game, which was top 30 in the nation.

His players have earned more than 50 all conference recognitions, and four conference player of the year awards. 16 athletes under Papuchis have been selected to the NFL draft, highlighted by Jared Verse, the No. 19 overall pick in 2024.
