Mizzou football’s Brady Cook set to make first NFL start

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A former Tiger is getting his first start at the professional level.

On Friday, Mizzou alumni Brady Cook was officially named the starter for the New York Jets' next game. He made his NFL debut on Dec. 7 against the Dolphins after Tyrod Taylor exited with an injury. Cook threw for 163 yards going 14-30 on pass attempts with two interceptions in his first action.

With the Tigers, he started for three seasons and threw for 8,591 yards and 46 touchdowns in that time. Cook led Mizzou to back-to-back 10-win seasons for the third time in program history, including the 2023 season where MU won 11-games in a season for just the fourth time in program history.

That historic season was capped off with a victory in the Cotton Bowl over Ohio State, where Cook was named Cotton Bowl MVP in the 14-3 win.
