RECAP: Mizzou striving to ‘stick together’ after suffering fourth loss
NORMAN, Okla. (KMIZ)
Mizzou Football's chase for program history has hit an end.
The Tigers (7-4) mathematically eliminated their chances of clinching three consecutive 10-win seasons with Saturday's 11-point defeat at Oklahoma.
Despite limiting the Sooners to just 276 total yards and 17 points, MU managed just two scoring drives on 13 possessions and punted seven times. Mizzou settled for just two field goals on its four trips inside its opponent's 25-yard line and finished 3-of-15 on third down conversions.
MU has suffered four losses in a single season for the first time since 2022, but despite its disappointment, the team is focused on finishing strong, starting with the Battle Line Rivalry on Nov. 29 against Arkansas.
"Stay together. I'm really, really proud of their fight and effort," head coach Eli Drinkwitz said. "The same things that I told them last night about how much I love them and I'm proud of them and appreciate their fight and effort, that doesn't change because we lost. So, stick together, ignore all the outside noise and let's come back next week and finish the season the right way."
