WEB EXTRA: PowerMizzou’s Jarod Hamilton previews Mizzou at 2025 SEC Media Days

ATLANTA, Ga. (KMIZ)

Mizzou Football is preparing to take the stage at 2025 SEC Media Days.

The Tigers are scheduled to speak on the final day of the event, starting with a local media session at 7:15 a.m. on Thursday, July 17. The team will be represented by head coach Eli Drinkwitz, who is entering his sixth year with the program, and three student-athletes: center Connor Tollison, defensive end Zion Young and safety Daylan Carnell.

MU is focused on making program history this season, aiming to become team to clinch three consecutive 10-win campaigns. The Tigers will be striving to accomplish that feat with a new-look team, which will feature a brand-new starting quarterback and the No. 7-ranked transfer portal class in college football, according to On3 and 247 Sports.

Mizzou's quarterback battle will be one of the topics that's at the top of media members' minds on Thursday. Penn State transfer Beau Pribula and Sam Horn will be competing for the starting job at fall camp after both student-athletes impressed Coach Drinkwitz this Spring.

"It's the QB. It's the most important position in football, so you're going to hear quite a bit about it," PowerMizzou's MU football beat writer Jarod Hamilton said. [Coach Drinkwitz] thought they both did well. Sam has come back from that Tommy John surgery, and he's looked well in that regard. Beau has kind of picked up the offense and has kind of established himself as getting the process of how they like to do things at Mizzou. So, I'm sure he'll just build up the battle and stuff, but I feel like we're really not going to know too much about who's leading or who's in charge of the battle until maybe a week or two into fall camp."
