Mizzou announces first three kickoff times of 2025 season

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou Football returns in 91 days.

The team has revealed kickoff times and television designations for its first three games of the 2025 season. You can find full details of MU's opening contests in the list below:

  • Thursday, Aug. 28: vs. Central Arkansas at 6:30 p.m. (SEC Network)
  • Saturday, Sept. 6: vs. Kansas at 2:30 p.m. (ESPN2)
  • Saturday, Sept. 13: vs. Louisiana at 3:00 p.m. (SEC Network+)

The Tigers are kicking off the 2025 campaign on a Thursday night in primetime for a fourth consecutive year. This game will mark the first-ever meeting between MU and Central Arkansas, who finished last season with a 6-6 overall record and a 3-5 mark in ASUN conference action.

In Week 2, a longtime rivalry will be reborn on the gridiron. Mizzou will host Kansas at Faurot Field for the first time in nearly two decades, aiming to extend their current three-game winning streak against the Jayhawks. MU and KU haven't battled on the football field since 2011 when the rivalry was played at Arrowhead Stadium for five straight years (2007-11).

Finally, head coach Eli Drinkwitz's team will resume its season-opening, six-game homestand against Louisiana, which will also represent the first-ever meeting between the two football programs. The Ragin' Cajuns ended the 2024 campaign with a 10-4 record and a 7-1 mark in the Sun Belt Conference, but Louisiana did suffer a pair of 28+ point losses to Marshall and TCU in the Sun Belt Conference Championship and the New Mexico Bowl respectively.

Mizzou will strive to become the first team in program history to enjoy three straight 10-win seasons when the 2025 campaign begins at Faurot Field.

Additional kickoff times and television designations will be announced by ESPN and the Southeastern Conference (SEC) at a later date.
