COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A member of Mizzou Football's special teams unit is putting plans in motion to enter the transfer portal.

A team spokesperson confirmed to ABC 17 Sports that punter Luke Bauer initiated the transfer portal process on Thursday. The St. Louis native has one year of eligibility remaining.

Bauer has appeared in 26 games over the last two seasons, averaging nearly 42 yards per punt during his MU career. The De Smet graduate also has a 39-yard touchdown pass on his resume, executing a successful fake punt at Kentucky during the 2023 campaign.

The graduate student recorded seven punts of 50+ yards and pinned opponents inside the 20-yard line 13 times this season.

According to On3, head coach Eli Drinkwitz and his staff have currently assembled the No. 2-ranked transfer portal class in the nation.
