Mizzou adds veteran wide receiver from transfer portal
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Head Coach Eli Drinkwitz and his staff have made their first splash in the transfer portal, kicking off the current 2024-25 cycle.
Former Mississippi State wide receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. is transferring to Mizzou for his senior year, immediately following a junior season where he led the Bulldogs in multiple statistical categories.
The St. Louis native posted a team-high 74 catches for 932 receiving yards and six touchdowns at Mississippi State this season. The St. Mary's graduate was also named a third-team All-SEC selection and earned a spot on the Biletnikoff Award watch list, which honors the top wide receiver in college football.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound wide receiver also caught six passes and recorded 58 receiving yards when the Bulldogs and the Tigers met during the 2024 campaign.
The former four-star recruit is joining his fourth team in four seasons after making previous stops at Jackson State, Louisville and Mississippi State during his college career.
Coleman Jr. marks the first transfer portal addition that Mizzou has made during this window. However, several Tigers have announced their entrances into the transfer portal, including Williams Nwaneri, who committed to Nebraska, Jaylen Brown, Mekhi Miller, Brayshawn Littlejohn, Orion Phillips and others.
