Mizzou falls flat, suffers shutout loss at Alabama

The Mizzou Tigers didn't bring the offense with them to Alabama.
The Crimson Tide defense shut out the Tigers in a game that saw already-injured quarterback Brady Cook leave, this time with a hand injury. He did not return and his replacement, Drew Pyne, had trouble moving the offense down the field.
The Tigers came close to scoring with less than 5 minutes left in the game but the Tide defense stood strong at the goal line, forcing a turnover on downs. On their next drive, the Tide rushed to the Mizzou 35-yard line in a single run play.
Pyne ended the game with less than 50 yards passing to go along with three interceptions. Star Mizzou wide receiver Luther Burden III was a non-factor, with three catches for 3 yards and two rushes for 15 yards.
Cook was 7-for-12 for 30 yards before leaving with a hand injury in the first half.
The No. 15 Tide, meanwhile, seemed to have their way on offense, piling on 34 points against the No. 21 Tigers. However, Mizzou stopped them in the red zone in the final minute to prevent yet another Tide score.
Mizzou will now have a bye week before hosting Oklahoma at Memorial Stadium on Nov. 9.
