RECAP: Mizzou seeking response following first loss of season

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KMIZ)

After suffering a 31-point loss to Texas A&M in its first road test of the 2024 season, Mizzou (4-1) is now striving to reset before returning to SEC play. MU has shifted its attention to having a positive response from its first loss of the year, following an effort where the Tigers were unable to answer any of Texas A&M's scoring drives until late in the third quarter and allowed more than 500 total yards of offense along with six sacks. How head coach Eli Drinkwitz and his team decide to respond to that adversity will be telling of the conference campaign that's in store for Mizzou Football this season.

"You got one or two choices. You can fall apart or you can dig deep and find resolve to get better. The season really starts today, and how we respond will determine what kind of football season we're going to have," Drinkwitz said after Saturday's loss. "At the end of the day, this is one loss, and it's a tough loss because you're embarrassed by the performance. I'm embarrassed by the performance, but it's just that. It's one game, and there's really a whole heck of a lot of football left and it's going to be up to us to either seek comfort in placing blame or have resolve to get it fixed."
