Mizzou adds four-star wide receiver to 2025 recruiting class
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou football fans did not have to wait until sunset to see some 4th of July fireworks. Eli Drinkwitz and his coaching staff kicked off an important recruiting stretch by securing a commitment from Jayvan Boggs, who chose the Tigers over Georgia, USC and UCF.
The 6-foot, 200-pound wide receiver is ranked as the No. 30 player at his position in the nation, the No. 32 prospect from the state of Florida and the No. 222 overall recruit in the country, according to On3's industry rankings. Boggs is listed as a four-star prospect by three of the four major recruiting sites and is ranked as highly as the No. 67 recruit in the nation by Rivals.
The Florida native was originally committed to Ohio State but decided to decommit from the Buckeyes back in March after a stellar junior season at Cocoa High School. Boggs recorded 93 catches for 1,504 yards and 24 touchdowns last season alone.
According to On3, Mizzou's 2025 recruiting class is now ranked No. 18 in the nation and No. 9 in the SEC. So far, the Tigers have secured 13 commitments and seven of them are rated as a four-star prospect or higher.
Thursday's commitment is just the start of a busy stretch of announcements from Mizzou recruiting targets. Four-star wide receiver Donovan Olugbode and four-star offensive tackle Lamont Rogers are schedule to commit on Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6 respectively. Both of them have the Tigers listed among their top six schools.
