Mizzou Football lands pair of commitments in transfer portal
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Eli Drinkwitz and his coaching staff are adding two more transfers to their 2024-25 roster. Former Michigan linebacker Jeremiah Beasley and former Georgia Tech defensive lineman Eddie Kelly both announced that they will be transferring to Mizzou.
Beasley was the first player to commit to the Tigers on Wednesday. The 6-foot-1, 230-pound prospect was part of the 2024 recruiting class and was rated as a four-star linebacker, according to 247 Sports. The recruiting site also ranked Beasley as the No. 26 player at his position in the nation and the No. 6 prospect in the state of Michigan.
The Michigan native recorded 120 total tackles and five sacks during his senior season of high school. He will have four years of eligibility when he arrives in Columbia.
Under 30 minutes after Beasley's announcement, Mizzou secured a commitment from Kelly out of the transfer portal. The Florida native is listed as a three-star transfer by Rivals and On3.
The 6-foot-4, 278-pound defensive lineman has played two seasons of college football at both South Florida and Georgia Tech. During his first season, Kelly appeared in 11 games at South Florida, posting 19 total tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss. Most recently, he completed his sophomore season at Georgia Tech, recording twice as many tackles compared to his freshman campaign, 5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks over 13 games.
