RECAP: Mizzou football captures the best win of the Eli Drinkwitz era

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou football coach Eli Drinkwitz has upset top-25 teams before, No. 17 LSU in 2020 and No. 25 South Carolina in 2022, but his team captured the highest-ranked win of his career on Saturday, toppling No. 15 Kansas State.

The win happened in a fitting fashion, as well. The game, itself, was all about redemption from a 40-12 loss in Manhattan, Kansas one season ago. The player that gave Mizzou the redemption it needed, also got some of his own.

Kicker Harrison Mevis has been the guy that MU called to win the game before. In 2022, he missed a potential game-winning field goal against Auburn. He even missed a 54-yarder earlier in the game against Kansas State. However, this time, when his name was called to win the game, he answered it.
