Mizzou baseball secures sixth straight win over NDSU

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Tigers improved their season record to 8-2, picking up a win in their first home weekend series.

Head coach Kerrick Jackson and company took down North Dakota State 11-5 in another impressive offensive outting.

Javyn Pimental got the start on the mound and went straight to work against the Bison. He picked up two straight strikeouts to start the game. The bats returned the favor getting two batters on base for Blaize Ward. The second baseman smashed a double into centerfield that brought in two runs and gave the Tigers a 2-0 advantage.

Mizzou added another in the third, and four more Tigers crossed home in the fourth, thanks to a fielding error by North Dakota State, and a Tyler Macon triple.

NDSU strung together a few good innings on offense towards the end of the game, but another four runs for Mizzou in the seventh sealed the deal for the team's eighth win of the year.

Up Next - The Tigers continue their series against the Bison with a double header on Saturday, Feb. 28. First pitch for game 1 is scheduled for 1 p.m. with the second slated to begin after the first.
