Mizzou scores pledge from SEC talent through transfer portal

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou Baseball is adding a proven SEC-caliber talent to its roster.
South Carolina transfer Jase Woita has announced that he is committing to head coach Kerrick Jackson's program for his final year of eligibility, per a post on his Instagram page.
The Nebraska native, who's listed as an infielder and outfielder on South Carolina's roster, primarily served as a designated hitter in his only season with the Gamecocks. During that 2025 campaign, Woita recorded a .300 batting average with 21 runs scored, five doubles, six home runs and 20 RBIs over 45 games, including 31 appearances in the starting lineup.
Woita's success at the plate also stayed consistent during SEC play. He batted .333 with seven extra-base hits against conference challengers and enjoyed some standout performances in league games. Woita delivered a ninth-inning triple against No. 1 LSU (May 15), which turned out to be the game-winning run. He also had a pair of three-hit efforts against No. 8 Auburn (May 9) and Florida (May 2) in SEC action.
Before transferring to South Carolina, the 6-foot-3, left-handed batter played two seasons at Kansas City Kansas Community College where he was named a two-time KJCCC All-Tournament honoree. Woita appeared in 101 career games with the Blues Devils, posting a .417 batting average with 33 doubles, 23 home runs and 138 RBIs.
Woita is the fourth player to pledge to Mizzou Baseball through the transfer portal this offseason and the second SEC talent. The St. Pius X graduate joins Texas A&M's Jamal George, Wichita State's Kam Durnin and Nova Southeastern's Keyler Gonzalez in Coach Jackson's transfer portal class.
