REPORTS: Kerrick Jackson returning as Mizzou baseball coach
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou Athletics is bringing back the leader of its baseball program.
According to reports from the Columbia Daily Tribune and D1 Baseball, Mizzou is retaining head coach Kerrick Jackson for a third season.
The Tigers wrapped up their 2025 season with a first-round exit in the SEC Tournament, ending the campaign with a 16-39 overall record and a 3-27 mark in conference play. MU also endured a 24-game conference losing skid.
However, despite the disappointing season, Jackson guided the team to a more positive campaign in his first year at the helm. MU earned wins over six nationally-ranked SEC opponents during the 2024 season and finished with a 23-32 record, including nine conference victories.
Jackson, who was named the 15th head coach in program history in June 2023, has a proven track record of turning teams around. During his only campaign at Memphis (2023), Mizzou's former assistant coach (2011-15) guided the Tigers to their first winning season in six years. Before that, Jackson led Southern University to a 32-24 record and a SWAC Championship in 2019, just one season after the Jaguars posted a 9-33 overall mark.
MU has turned its attention to the offseason, working to have a bounce back year in 2026.
