COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Three members of the Mizzou football team have grabbed the eyes of Southeastern Conference coaches, ahead of the start of the 2025 campaign.

Offensive lineman Cayden Green, wide receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. and safety Jalen Catalon all earned Preseason Coaches All-SEC honors on Tuesday evening. Green was named to the first-team, Coleman Jr. to the second-team and Catalon rounded out the group as a third-team selection.

Green can add preseason All-SEC honors to the mountain of attention he's gotten before the season kicks off. The consensus preseason All-American is set to tackle his second year in Columbia after starting all 13 games at left guard in 2024. He helped the Tiger offense to accumulate 2,138 rushing yards and 2,926 passing yards in his debut season in the black and gold.

The Lee's Summit native was part of an offense line that led the SEC and ranked seventh nationally in time of possession and ranked fourth and seventh in the conference in tackles for loss allowed and sacks allowed per game, respectively.

Coleman is getting ready for his first season in Columbia, after transferring from Mississippi State in the offseason. The St. Louis native was a Third-Team All-SEC selection after his junior season for the bulldogs, as he hauled in 74 receptions for six touchdowns and came just shy of a 1,000 yard season with 932 receiving yards. In his one year in Starkville, he registered four 100-yard games.

Last but not least, Catalon will also take the field for the first time in the black and gold when Mizzou opens up the season against Central Arkansas. The former 2020 Freshman All-American will bring quite a bit of experience to head coach Eli Drinkwitz's locker room, as he's playing in his seventh season of college football.

Catalon has made multiple stops in his career, coming to Mizzou from UNLV. But, he also brings Southeastern Conference experience, as he spent some time with the Arkansas Razorbacks, where he earned Second-Team All-SEC honors. During his 2024 season at UNLV, Catalon ranked second on the team in total tackles with 61, while adding 5.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and a team-leading five interceptions, which ranked fourth nationally.

The trio will kick off the SEC against Central Arkansas on Thursday, Aug. 28 at 6:30 p.m.
