COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

According to a team spokesperson, Mizzou center Josh Gray became the fifth member of the 2024-25 Tiger team to enter the transfer portal, on Wednesday. However, he will enter the portal with likely no 'traditional' eligibility left.

He has played five seasons of college basketball, to date, but his entry into the portal would indicate that he is hoping for another year. It is not clear if he will be given another season to play with, yet though.

Gray made the decision after spending one season in Columbia, where he averaged 3.2 points and a team-leading 5.3 rebounds in 15.6 minutes per contest. He provided a much-needed presence around the rim for head coach Dennis Gates this past season.

If given another year of eligibility by the NCAA, the 7-foot center will be looking for his third program, where he will play in his sixth season of college basketball. Before sporting the black and gold, Gray played for three years at South Carolina and for a year at LSU.

The New York native joins guard Marcus Allen, forward Aidan Shaw, guard/forward Danny Stephens and guard JV Brown in players to enter the transfer portal this offseason.
