Former Mizzou Tiger makes NBA Summer League debut

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou Men's Basketball alum Sean East II has graced the professional basketball stage for the first time in his career. The former Tiger made the Los Angeles Lakers' starting lineup for the team's 2024 NBA Summer League debut.

East II saw 20 minutes of action at Chase Center against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday evening. He finished the game with six points, three rebounds and two assists. The Mizzou graduate also shot 37.5% from the field in the contest.

The 6-foot-3 guard signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Lakers back on June 28 after not hearing his name called at the 2024 NBA Draft. An Exhibit 10 deal is a one-year, minimum salary contract that essentially allows a player to tryout for a spot on an NBA or G-League roster during a team's training camp.

East II's former teammate Mohamed Diarra is also part of the Los Angeles Lakers' NBA Summer League roster. However, he did not get any playing time in Saturday's game due to coach's decision.
