NEW ORLEANS, La. (KMIZ)

Last season, Mizzou Gymnastics set a new program record for its highest team score at the SEC Championships. One year later, Shannon Welker's crew has broken that record again.

The Tigers ended the afternoon session of the SEC Championships on top of the team standings and finished in fifth place overall after posting a 197.275 team score on Saturday.

Mara Titarsolej was crowned an SEC co-champion after Saturday's action. Titarsolej shared the SEC bars title with LSU's Ashley Cowan after both gymnasts posted a 9.950 in that event. She is now a two-time conference champion on that apparatus, winning the EAGL bars title back in 2022 when she was performing at LIU. Titarsolej is the first gymnast in program history to win a conference championship on bars.

Mizzou's floor lineup posted the team's best performance in a single event, registering a 49.400 score and breaking the program record for their highest conference championship team score in that event. Sienna Schreiber, Jocelyn Moore and Kennedy Griffin finished in a four-way tie for the afternoon session title on floor after all three gymnasts earned a 9.900.

Hannah Horton ended the first session with a share of the vault title, recording a 9.900 routine alongside Auburn's Julianne Huff and Cassie Stevens. Horton's performance led the way for the Tigers to also set a new program record team score in that event, collectively scoring a 49.250.

Sydney Schaffer was the final Tiger to reach the 9.900-mark, earning a 9.925 tally on beam. Schaffer fell just .025 short of ending the first session in a three-way tie for that event title.

Up next - Mizzou Gymnastics will learn its NCAA Regional destination on Monday, March 25. The selection show is scheduled to begin around 11 a.m.
