Mizzou earns season-best score, Moore posts perfect 10 performance
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (KMIZ)
Mizzou Gymnastics is heading into postseason play with plenty of momentum. The Tigers closed out the regular season on Sunday with a season-high 197.600 team score, highlighted by the program's first-ever perfect score on floor.
Jocelyn Moore achieved perfection for the second time in her career in Mizzou's victory over No. 21 Arizona, Illinois and SEMO in its regular season finale, earning her the floor title at Sunday's quad meet. This was Moore's first perfect 10 since last season when she earned a perfect score on vault against Auburn, making her the first Mizzou gymnast in program history to achieve perfection in two different events.
Moore's flawless floor routine propelled the Tigers to break the program record for the team's highest score ever on floor with a 49.700. Five different Mizzou gymnasts scored a 9.900 or better on that apparatus, including Moore, Kennedy Griffin, Hannah Horton, Alonna Kratzer and Sienna Schreiber.
Mizzou also set a new program-best score on vault, posting a 49.500. Led by Moore and Amari Celestine, who shared the vault title with 9.950 routines, every Tiger gymnast scored at least a 9.850 on vault.
Schreiber was awarded the all-around title after Sunday's action. She secured a score of 9.850 or higher on all four of her routines, including a team-high 9.900 on beam. Mara Titarsolej led the Tigers on bars with the team's lone performance that reached the 9.900-mark.
