Mizzou quarterback grabs national recognition following week five win

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Once again, Mizzou quarterback Brady Cook is garnering national attention after MU's week five win against Vanderbilt, on Saturday in Nashville.

Cook was selected to the Davey O'Brien Award's Great 8 for week five and was also named one of the Manning Award's stars of the week. It's the second time that the St. Louis-native has gotten weekly honors from each award.

The Tigers beat the Commodores 38-21 to remain undefeated in 2023, going 5-0 for the first time since 2013. In that game, Cook was 33-of-41 for a career-high 395 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. He also set a new SEC record for most pass attempts in a row without an interception, with 326.

Up next - No. 21 Mizzou will host No. 23 LSU at Faurot Field on Saturday. Kick off is scheduled for 11 a.m.
