Mizzou soccer falls in SEC home opener to No. 22 Georgia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou soccer team fell to No. 22 Georgia at Audrey J. Walton Stadium on Sunday evening, 2-1, which dropped the team to 5-3-2.

Two early goals from the Bulldogs' Nicole Vernis and Summer Denigan sealed the deal for MU's defeat. Head coach Stefanie Golan's group did manage to get on the board, though, with a goal from Kylee Simmons.

Up next - the Tigers will host No. 11 Arkansas in Columbia on Thursday, Sept. 28. The game is set to kickoff at 6 p.m.
