Former Mizzou softball star turns pro

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Former Mizzou softball standout Brooke Wilmes has signed a professional contract with the Smash It Sports Vipers of Women's Professional Fastpitch. 

The centerfielder was named to four All-SEC teams and was awarded three NFCA All-Region awards over her career as a Tiger. Over five seasons at MU, Wilmes registered a .345 career batting average with a .314 on-base percentage and a .575 slugging percentage.

Wilmes ranks first all-time in Mizzou program history with 828 at bats and 59 doubles, and second overall with 286 hits and 206 runs. She also compiled 41 home runs and 164 RBIs. 

Mizzou graduate assistant Amber Fiser is also on the Smash It Sports Vipers.
