Former Mizzou golfer finishes second at Sony Open

HONOLULU, Hawaii (KMIZ)

Former Mizzou golf standout Hayden Buckley finished just one stroke shy of his first-ever PGA Tour event win on Sunday. He finished second overall, just behind the winner, Si Woo Kim.

Buckley will still leave Hawaii with a bit of payday, though, as he hauled in $861,100 with the second place finish.

Buckley drained a birdie with four holes left to play to take the solo lead, however, Kim chipped one in for a birdie, as well, in response.

The Mizzou alum is still looking for his first win in a PGA Tour event, but he did win once on the Korn Ferry Tour back in 2021 and also on the PGA Tour Canada in 2019.
