Blake Baker signs with Tigers through 2025

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

It was announced Thursday that Mizzou has signed defensive coordinator Blake Baker through the 2025 season, which includes an increase in his annual salary.

In his first season at Mizzou, the Tigers are allowing just 310.6 yards per game, which is a big improvement from the 2021 team which allowed 434.7 yards per game.

"He has done a really good job utilizing our scheme and playing well together and making some great calls at the right times," said head coach Eli Drinkwitz.

Baker said Thursday he is looking forward to continuing to make Mizzou better. "Make no mistake about it, this is a reflection of the hard work of our defensive staff and most importantly, our players. We have a resilient group, and it doesn't matter where the ball is put down, they step up and play hard."

The Tigers will be home Saturday against Kentucky at 11 a.m.
