Fans get a look of Dennis Gates’ Tigers at Saturday’s open practice

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Dennis Gates era has begun at Mizzou and Saturday afternoon the fans got to attend the first open practice of the season.

This comes a little more than two weeks before Mizzou will play their first game of the season at home on Nov. 7 against Southern Indiana.

Gates has brought in an entirely new coaching staff with him to Mizzou. It was apparent at Saturday's practice that associate head coach C.Y. Young will be a vocal leader of the coaching group.

As far as the team, senior forward Kobe Brown is the one of three returners out of the fifteen players on the roster.

A few players newcomers showed up big in the scrimmage including: freshman Aidan Shaw, junior transfer Noah Carter, junior transfer Sean East II and fifth year transfer D'Moi Hodge who Gates coached at Cleveland State.
