Royals fall to Brewers in extras, suffer back-to-back series losses

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (KMIZ)
The Royals are still searching for their first series win of the 2025 season.
Milwaukee (2-4) clinched the series with a walk-off bunt in extra innings, handing Kansas City a 3-2 loss at American Family Field on Wednesday afternoon.
Besides a first-inning home run from Jackson Chourio, Cole Ragans was effective in his second start of the season. The 27-year-old, left-handed pitcher allowed just one run on five hits over five innings. Ragans also struck out 10 batters, reaching double-digit strikeouts in a game for the sixth time in his career.
Cavan Biggio tied the game 1-1 with an RBI single in the second inning, but after that, both teams were held off the scoreboard until extra innings. Milwaukee's starting pitcher Freddy Peralta tossed eight innings, giving up just one run on two hits while recording eight strikeouts against the Royals.
After both teams traded runs in the 10th inning, Brice Turang delivered the game-deciding play: a walk-off bunt back to the pitcher that allowed Oliver Dunn to score with ease.
Michael Massey finished the game with Kansas City's only multi-hit effort, going 2-for-4 with an RBI and one run scored. Biggio and Jonathan India also tallied one hit each.
Up next - The Royals return to Kauffman Stadium for a seven-game homestand against the Orioles and Twins. Kansas City's three-game series with Baltimore begins on Friday, April 4 at 6:40 p.m.
