Royals earn series-clinching win over Brewers
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Royals closed out their six-game homestand with a series win over the Brewers after securing a 6-4 victory at Kauffman Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. Kansas City currently sits in second place in the division standings as the team inches closer to the 40-game mark of the 2024 season.
Matt Quatraro's team recorded six runs in Wednesday's contest, led by shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. who hit his fifth home run of the season and scored three times in a two-hit effort. Vinnie Pasquantino and Freddy Fermin each posted two hits and one RBI in this game, and Michael Massey paced the Royals in RBI's by finishing the contest with two.
Brady Singer earned the win on the mound, giving up only one earned run on five hits while striking out four batters in just over five innings of work. James McArthur captured his 8th save out of the bullpen after recording the final two outs of the ninth inning.
Up next - Kansas City has a quick turnaround. The Royals travel to the West Coast to begin a four-game set with the Angels, starting with game one on Thursday, May 9 at 8:38 p.m.
