SAN DIEGO, Ca. (KMIZ)

After losing the series opener, the Kansas City Royals claimed back-to-back victories to leave San Diego with a much-needed series win.

In Wednesday's finale, KC squeezed out a 4-3 win after managing three runs in the sixth inning. Vinnie Pasquantino led things at the plate going 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, plus MJ Melendez and Maikel Garcia both drove in one run each.

On the mound, Carlos Hernandez got the start throwing two scoreless innings. The Royals bullpen also closed the game out not allowing a run in the final three innings.

Kansas City sits at 14-31 on the season. Up next, the group will stay on the road for a three-game series with the White Sox starting Friday at 7:10 p.m.
