Royals avoid series sweep vs. Rangers with big time series finale win

ARLINGTON, Tx. (KMIZ)

The Kansas City Royals avoided the series sweep against the Texas Rangers Wednesday after winning the final game in Arlington 10-1.

This marks the most runs that the Royals have put together all season off of 14 total hits.

Lead-off batter MJ Melendez led the way at the plate going two-for-five with three RBI's. Michael Massey brought in a pair of runs and five other Kansas City guys added an RBI of their own.

On the mound, Brad Keller had a dominate start pitching nearly seven innings, allowing one run on three hits and recording seven strikeouts.

The Royals still fell in the series 2-1 and sit at 4-9 on the season. The team returns home for a three-game series against the Atlanta Braves starting Friday at 7:10 p.m.
