Royals win divisional series in Detroit

DETROIT, MI (KMIZ)

The Kansas City Royals won the divisional series in Detroit after squeezing out a 3-2 win on Sunday.

Bobby Witt Jr. led things at the plate going 2-for-4 with an RBI. MJ Melendez and Nicky Lopez also each drove in a run.

On the mound, Max Castillo pitched just over four innings allowing two earned runs on five hits. Scott Barlow closed it out not allowing a hit in the ninth and recording a strikeout.

Up next - The Royals return to Kauffman Stadium Monday to take on the Guardians at 7:10 p.m.
