KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Chris Jones is staying in Kansas City. The First-Team All-Pro agreed to a five-year contract with the Chiefs that includes $95 million guaranteed, per Jones' agents. This deal makes Jones the NFL's highest paid defensive tackle based on average annual salary in league history.

This comes after Jones held out of training camp and missed the first game of the Chiefs' 2023-24 season due to unsuccessful contract negotiations. Jones eventually signed a one-year deal with Kansas City to return to action last year.

The three-time Super Bowl champion posted 10.5 sacks last season and is a five-time Pro-Bowl selection. Jones has recorded 75.5 sacks and 12 forced fumbles in his eight-year NFL career with the Chiefs.
