Chiefs take down Broncos, win fifth straight game
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Patrick Mahomes improved his all-time record against the Denver Broncos to 12-0 after Kansas City's 19-8 win over Denver on Thursday night at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs have now won five straight games.
Travis Kelce was listed as questionable on Kansas City's injury report, but he did play in the game. He finished with nine catches for 124 yards.
Kansas City built a comfortable 13-0 lead in the first half. Harrison Butker put the Chiefs on the board first with a 35-yard field goal to give Kansas City a three-point lead in the first quarter. Then, Mahomes threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Kadarius Toney to extend the Chiefs' lead to 10-0. Butker also kicked a 60-yard field goal right before halftime.
Former Mizzou Tiger Nick Bolton and Justin Reid both grabbed interceptions in the game, and the Chiefs defense also sacked Russell Wilson four times.
Kansas City extended its win streak against Denver to 16 consecutive games after the victory.
