Kansas City Chiefs set to make two picks in day two of the 2023 NFL Draft
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Kansas City Chiefs closed out day one of the 2023 NFL Draft selected Kansas City's own defensive end Felix Anudike-Ozomah, and now the team is preparing to make two more additions in day two.
Friday's draft includes rounds two and three, which the Chiefs currently hold one pick in each round at pick number 63 and pick 95.
Defensive end was one of the big needs that the Chiefs have going into this weekend, and with Anudike-Ozomah filling that hole, the question is what's next?
KC's most clear holes to still fill come at defensive tackle, offensive tackle and possibly wide receiver.
The highest rated DT still on the board is the 6-foot-4, 312 pound tackle from Wisconsin, Keeanu Benton. Other options at defensive tackle are Adetomiwa Adebawore from Northwestern and Gervon Dexter from Florida.
As far as offensive tackle goes, five were drafted in round one. The top prospects still on the board are Dawand Jones from Ohio State, Matthew Bergerom from Syracuse and Wanya Morris from Oklahoma.
Also on the offensive side of the day, the Chiefs could use some added depth at wide receiver. After not trading up Thursday for Zay Flowers or Quentin Johnston, could the Chiefs get a guy on day two? The highest rated wideouts still on the board include Josh Downs from North Carolina, plus Cedric Tillman and Jalin Hyatt both from Tennessee.
Round two of the NFL Draft starts Friday at 6 p.m. The ABC 17 sports team will start live coverage from Union Station at 5 p.m.
