Centralia wins back-to-back state titles, Mid-Missouri adds several individual golds

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Four teams make the podium, and nine individuals bring wrestling titles back to Mid-Missouri.

Christopher Ankenmen of Tolton Catholic became the 45th wrestler to become a four time state champion. North Callaway's Collin Moore and Centralia's Rex Bryson also defended their crowns, bringing home a second consecutive gold.

In the class 1 team title race, Centralia fended off a surging Marceline and North Callaway to win back-to-back state championships, and the team's third in four years. The Tigers were 9.5 points behind for the silve, and the Thunderbirds brought home the bronze, the first time in school history that they finished on the podium. Mexico also picked up some hardware, finishing third in class 2.

  • 138 - Carter Wallis (Marceline)
  • 157 - Kellen Long (North Callaway)
  • 165 - Collin Moore (North Callaway)
  • 175 - Rex Bryson (Centralia)

CLASS 1 GIRLS:

  • 110 - Jayden Keller (Brookfield)
  • 125 - Mackinzie Brewer (Fulton)
  • 145 - Zafaran Satterfield (Southern Boone)

CLASS 2 BOYS:

  • 126 - Christopher Ankenman (Tolton)
  • 157 - Grant Leininger (Southern Boone)
