Centralia captures state championship, mid-Missouri crowns numerous champions
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mid-Missouri is the home of double-digit high school state wrestling champions.
17 local wrestlers accomplished their mission of winning a state title at the 2025 MSHSAA Wrestling Championships.
Six of those student-athletes are multi-time state champions. Brookfield's Peyton Parn (28-0) became the 43rd wrestler in Missouri history to win four straight state championships. Tolton's Christopher Ankenman (52-1), Moberly's Breanne Gibbs (54-0) and Brookfield's Jayden Keller (45-0) are now three-time state champions. Finally, Centralia's Jayci Shelton (47-2) and Brookfield's Devan Parn (47-0) have earned back-to-back state titles.
Collectively, Centralia clinched its second state championship in three years, winning the Class 1 Boys title by an 85.5-point margin over Brookfield. The Bulldogs finished in second place in both the Class 1 Boys and Class 1 Girls tournaments. Marceline and Fatima also earned team trophies with third and fourth place finishes, respectively.
