Local wrestlers claim hardware in state tournament
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Class 2 boys, Class 1 boys and Class 1 girls state tournaments are wrapping up Thursday at Mizzou Arena and several Mid-Missouri athletes are bringing home hardware.
For the Class 2 boys, local athletes claimed two first place finishes, four second place finishes, two third place finishes, a fourth place finish and and five fifth place finishes.

- 106 weight class: 1st place Fulton's Cole Blattner
- 113 weight class: 2nd place Eldon's Jesiah Simmons, 4th place Kirksville's Justin Schutter
- 120 weight class: 3rd place Kirksville's Austyn Hunter, 5th place Blair Oaks' Easton Demilia
- 126 weight class: 5th place Blair Oaks' Whit Nichols
- 138 weight class: 2nd place Hallsville's Parker Crane, 5th place Mexico's Grant VanHorn
- 144 weight class: 1st place Hallsville's Gavynn Carpenter
- 150 weight class: 3rd place Southern Boone Hunter Jennings
- 157 weight class: 5th place Fulton's Elijah Brocksmith
- 165 weight class: 2nd place Blair Oaks' Zach Rackers
- 215 weight class: 2nd place Blair Oaks' Brady Kerperin, 5th place Fulton's JaDontae Ray
For the class one boys, the Centralia boys claimed their first team trophy in program history with two wrestlers claiming first place. Tolton also grabbed fourth place as a team. Overall, local athletes claimed three first place finishes, five second place finishes, five total local wresters grabbed third place finishes, two fourth places and five more finished in fifth.

- 120 weight class: 1st Centralia's Brayden Dubes
- 126 weight class: 2nd place Centralia's Weston Ward, 3rd place Fatima's Cody Strope, 5th place Tolton's Frank Ruether
- 132 weight class: 4th place Centralia's Jesse Shannon
- 138 weight class: 2nd place Centralia's Rex Bryson
- 144 weight class: 3rd place Marcelin's Connor Quinn
- 150 weight class: 5th place Tolton's Justus Martin
- 157 weight class: 3rd place Centralia's Kyden Wilkerson, 5th place North Callaway's Eli Henry
- 165 weight class: 1st place Centralia's Brayden Shelton, 2nd place Tolton's Frank Hazelrigg, 5th place Eldon's Blake Esparza
- 175 weight class: 2nd place Marceline's Ryder Gooch
- 190 weight class: South Callaway's Elijah Benningfield
- 215 weight class: 3rd place Versailles' Tristin Gavette
- 285 weight class: 2nd place Centralia's Seth Hasekamp
For the class one girls, three local athletes claimed the first place spots, one came in second, local talent brought in one third place finish, one fourth place final and two more in fifth.

- 115 weight class: 1st place Southern Boone's Callie Bergthold
- 130 weight class: 1st place Jefferson City's Alexis Dunwiddie
- 145 weight class: 1st place Moberly's Breanne Gibbs

- 170 weight class: 5th place Kirksville's Madisynn Crawford
- 190 weight class: 2nd place Tipton's Lily Burns
