Cedric Alvis joins Rock Bridge football coaching staff

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Cedric Alvis has landed his next coaching job, and the former Hickman head football coach did not have to travel far to find it. Rock Bridge head football coach Matt Perkins announced on social media on Wednesday that Alvis is joining his coaching staff as a defensive backs coach.

Most recently, Alvis served as Hickman's head coach for six seasons before stepping down from the position back on Nov. 3, 2023. He ended his head coaching tenure at Hickman with a 13-46 overall record, including a winless season in his final year with the team.

Alvis has ties to the Rock Bridge football program. He volunteered to serve as a coach for the Bruins after playing college football at Missouri State. He has made coaching stops at all three Columbia Public Schools.
