Four Columbia athletes named McDonald’s All-American nominees

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Four Columbia student-athletes have received some national recognition alongside the best-of-the-best in high school basketball.

Fr. Tolton's Aaron Rowe and Exavier Wilson and Rock Bridge's Mari Miller and Elli Porter were nominated on Wednesday afternoon for the opportunity to compete at the 2025 McDonald's All-American Games.

This year's nominees were chosen by high school coaches, athletics directors, principals or members of the McDonald's All-American Games selection committee, based on a set of competitive criteria.

“It’s great to celebrate these players who are proudly representing their families and Columbia,” said Local McDonald’s Owner/Operator Ryan Ruprecht in Wednesday's press release. “The Games have elevated thousands of athletes, supporting many communities across the country in the process. I look forward to following these players on their journeys, as they go on to accomplish incredible feats both on and off the court.”

Rowe, Miller and Porter have already signed National Letters of Intent with the University of Missouri, UAB and Wofford respectively to continue their basketball careers at the collegiate level. Wilson currently holds several NCAA Division I offers, including West Virginia, Missouri State and More.

48 finalists, the top 24 boys and girls nominated for the honor, will be announced later this month. The event is scheduled for April 1 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
