Several local athletes earn MSHSAA state championship crowns
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Five mid-Missouri track and field talents walked away from Adkins Stadium as state champions at Friday's MSHSAA State Championships.
Tolton's Elyse Wilmes won two state titles on Friday in the Class 4 Girls 1600m and 800m dash events, Battle's Anna Ferguson captured a state crown in the Class 5 Girls Pole Vault, Hickman's Addison Throckmorton claimed the top step of the podium in the Class 5 Girls Javelin Throw, Osage's Landon Childs cruised through the competition to win a state championship in the Class 4 Boys Pole Vault and Camdenton's Ty Wiethop was a state title winner in the Class 4 Boys Long Jump.

- 3rd Place: Angelina Cottone (Tolton)
- Class 4 Boys High Jump:
- 4th Place: Stephen Caviness (Marshall)
- Class 5 Girls Long Jump:
- 3rd Place: Athena Peterson (Hickman)
- Class 4 Girls Triple Jump:
- 4th Place: Jaidyn Tabony (Osage)
- 8th Place: Shelley Thompson (Marshall)
- Class 4 Girls Shot Put:
- 2nd Place: Lillian Davis (Jefferson City)
- 4th Place: Stevenette Samuels (Jefferson City)

- Class 5 Girls Javelin Throw:
