Nick Saban retiring after 17 seasons with Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (KMIZ)

Multiple reports say legendary college football coach Nick Saban is retiring after serving as Alabama's head coach for the past 17 seasons. The first report came from ESPN.

Over his 17-year tenure at Alabama, Saban won six national titles with the Crimson Tide. He has won seven national championships in his coaching career, including his first national title in 2003 with LSU. As a head coach, Saban has won the most national championships in college football history.

Mizzou Football is scheduled to play Alabama on Oct. 26 during the 2024 football season. The Tigers hold a 2-5 all-time record against the Crimson Tide and have not defeated Alabama since Mizzou joined the SEC. Eli Drinkwitz's first game as Mizzou's head football coach was against Nick Saban.
