Mizzou’s Darius Robinson earns SEC weekly honors

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Following a standout performance in the win against then-No. 24 Kentucky, Mizzou defensive end Darius Robinson is the SEC Defensive Player of the Week.

In addition to that weekly honor, the Reese's Senior Bowl tabbed the graduate student as its co-defensive player of the week.

He led the MU defense to a road win in front of a sellout crowd in Lexington on Saturday night. He ended that game with six total tackles, 2.5 of which were for a loss and a career-high two sacks. It was the first multi-sack game of his career.

The Mizzou defense stepped up in a big way for head coach Eli Drinkwitz and company. After allowing 14 points in the first quarter, the group held the Wildcats to just one score and 149 yards of total offense the rest of the game.

Up next - Robinson and the No. 20 Tigers will host South Carolina on homecoming at Faurot Field. Kickoff on Saturday is slated for 2:30 p.m.
